Last year, saw changes to the emissions testing procedures and now the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Testing Procedure (WLTP), designed to provide more accurate, real world data on emissions and fuel consumption has now been finalised and is in place for all new cars registered.

In the recent October budget, the Chancellor Philip Hammond didn’t mention changes to company car tax in his speech. We will have to wait until the Spring statement now for any further news – we will update you in our April issue of Driverlink.

We’re very conscious of the uncertainty that this has caused about future BIK liabilities, but now that the majority of manufacturers have published their WLTP compliant figures, in most cases, the impact will not be that great.
